                A.  Overview:  Composition and Functions of Blood

                                1.  Describe the composition and physical characteristics of whole blood.

                                2.  Explain why it is classified as a connective tissue.

                                3.  List and describe the three major functions of blood.

 

                B.  Formed Elements

                                  4.  Describe the structural characteristics, and functions of erythrocytes.

                                  5.  Identify where erythrocytes are produced.

                                  6.  List the classes (5), structural characteristics, and functions of

       leukocytes.

                                  7.  Describe the structure and function of platelets.

                                  8.  Give examples of disorders caused by abnormalities of each of the

       following formed elements:  Erythrocytes ( Anemia 3 types, Polycythemia
